Extending Your Payment System; BP‑Switch and BP‑Auth Provide Fast Track to Payments Processing

A lot has been going on in the world of Payments as new payment methods are being invented and then sought by customers nearly every day. This month we have an article with some thoughts about this process from EFTlab’s Head of the Node, Christopher Dawes. A payments veteran, Chris is well aware of what is involved in Extending Your Payment System and how EFTlab’s products can facilitate it.

The EFTlab team has been working hard on a very interesting project for a customer using EFTlab’s BP‑Processing products: BP‑Switch and BP‑Auth. The customer needed a way to quickly extend their terminal management and transaction routing services to include payment processing and authorization for local banks and merchants. Time to market was critical. The customer chose BP‑Switch and BP‑Auth because they enable them to bring a new payments processing solution tailored to their highly specific needs to market very quickly and cost effectively. EFTlab’s solutions are helping this customer grow their business today and win new customers for the future. We would be glad to help you too!

In keeping with the season, you will find EFTlab’s “Winter Edition” products on our website, making it 5yrs tradition now. We also have a development update on all EFTlab products.

  • BP-Node 2.1.002: November was committed to countless number of improvements when facing BP‑Node's delivery on customer's side. Naming the most visible one - the Zabbix monitoring transposed from active server pushing to Zabbix server polling from custom shared memory. This also came with a new Zabbix static template implementation and item discovery which provides BP-Node users with a much wider control over the data and items he wants to keep monitored. Current implementation allows more then 10k BP‑Node's key parameters being monitored, tracked and keep history for - real paradise for system administrators.

Another part were significant improvements to the ODBC drivers, now allowing very fast connection to MS SQL Server database engine and also its upgrading from the BP-Node's persistence.  month the BP-Node team has spent 100% time on improving BP‑Node's memory management, threadpool handling and internal locking mechanisms. Amongst the others this had a very positive impact on the overall system throughput and its persistence performance.

More functionality foundations were laid made to pave a way for moving forwards in the 2016 which involves Tokenization, Settlement, Batch processing and Message format translation.
